BENEFITS OF CBD

You’ve likely heard how wonderful it is and how it’s helped your aunt’s back problems and your neighbor is taking it to monitor his stress levels. But you still aren’t completely sure how CBD works or whether CBD is safe.

What is CBD?

CBD is a cannabinoid, which essentially means it’s an organic compound often found in hemp or cannabis plants, that signals to cell receptors throughout your body’s endocannabinoid system. Did you know that your body also makes its own cannabinoids?

CBD stands for cannabidiol, and is just one of hundreds of cannabinoids found in hemp and cannabis plants. You are likely familiar with the previously better known cannabinoid, THC. CBD has been known to provide pretty extensive therapeutic potential but without some of the down sides of THC such as intoxication, dizziness, paranoia, or anxiety.

What is the Endocannabinoid System?

The endocannabinoid system is a matrix of receptors that exist throughout the body to influence and maintain homeostasis, or balance, throughout your body. It does this by signaling the release of neurotransmitters in your brain — essentially being the traffic cop of the chemicals in your brain.

The receptors throughout the endocannabinoid system monitor biological activities like our breath, blood pressure, sleep-wake cycle, hormone balance, inflammation & immune response. When we introduce CBD to our body, it acts as a boost to our endocannabinoid system, helping us be more effective and efficient at maintaining whole body homeostasis. You can learn more about how the endocannabinoid system works with CBD on this page.

What are the Benefits of CBD?

There is a wealth of information out there about CBD and its benefits from personal testimonials to scientific research papers. However, as a brand and manufacturer, there are restrictions on what we can say. The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently prohibits all manufacturers of CBD products

from making any medical claims about their ability to treat specific health conditions. These types of claims are permitted and approved by only the FDA based on the results of clinical trials. Because CBD is still so new, the clinical trial period is
still in progress.

WHILE WE CAN’T SAY THAT CBD IS AN EFFECTIVE TREATMENT FOR SPECIFIC AILMENTS, WE ARE CONFIDENT IN THE BELOW REPORTED BENEFITS:

PROMOTE RELAXATION
IMPROVE MOOD
REDUCE DISCOMFORT
DUE TO INFLAMMATION
IMPROVE QUALITY
OF SLEEP
SUPPORT MUSCLE
RECOVERY
REVITALIZE SKIN

WE WISH WE COULD SAY MORE, BUT WE ARE EXTREMELY PROUD OF WHAT WE DO AND THE POWER OF OUR PRODUCTS. WE HEAR FROM OUR CUSTOMERS DAILY ABOUT THE POSITIVE IMPACT CBD HAS HAD ON THE QUALITY OF THEIR LIVES.

Understanding the CBD Spectrum

When shopping for CBD products, you’ll likely come across terms relating to the ‘spectrum’ of CBD that you’re interested in purchasing. The differences between full spectrum, broad spectrum and CBD isolate is merely the content of the chemical compound found in the products.

Full spectrum CBD: Full spectrum CBD products contain all of the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids from the hemp plant, including trace amounts of THC, which creates a symphony of effects to boost CBD’s efficacy.

Broad spectrum CBD: Broad spectrum CBD products contain all of the cannabinoids, terpenes and flavonoids from the hemp plant but removing the THC, creating a similar symphony of benefits with no risk of intoxication.

CBD isolate: CBD isolate products include only the CBD molecules from the hemp plant. All other cannabinoids and terpenes and THC have been removed, so you’re getting pure CBD.

HEMP vs. MARIJUANA

CBD and THC are two of the most prominent cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Both hemp and marijuana produce both CBD and THC. So how do you tell them apart? Distinguishing between hemp and marijuana is as simple as looking at the THC content. Hemp contains less than 0.3% of THC by dry weight, while marijuana contains anything more than that.

But why 0.3 percent? First proposed by author Ernest Small, in a book called “The Species Problem in Cannabis: Science & Semantics,” he addresses the difficulty in distinguishing hemp and cannabis because there’s no taxonomical difference between the two, so he proposed the 0.3 percent rule as a possible solution.

IN SHORT, YES! THE 2018 FARM BILL FEDERALLY LEGALIZED THE REGULATED GROWTH, PRODUCTION AND MANUFACTURING OF HEMP IN ALL 50 STATES, ALLOWING CBD TO BECOME MORE READILY AVAILABLE. CONVERSELY, BECAUSE MARIJUANA HAS HIGHER THC CONCENTRATIONS IT IS STILL FEDERALLY ILLEGAL.

THEIR MOST RECENT RULING IN 2018 ALSO REMOVED INDUSTRIAL HEMP FROM THE FEDERAL CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE LIST AS A SCHEDULE I DRUG, AND ALLOWS FOR CBD AND HEMP SALES ACROSS STATE BORDERS.

UNDERSTANDING HOW CBD WORKS IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE PURCHASING JOURNEY. IT’S EASY TO GET SWEPT UP IN THE HYPE, BUT LEARNING ABOUT HOW CBD WORKS WILL EMPOWER YOU TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF ITS EFFECTS MUCH MORE WISELY SO YOU CAN JUST LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE.
